The Perfect and the Not So Perfect Bike Lights
Hopefully, if you are a cyclist, you are well lit when your ride. However, depending on where your route takes you, keeping your lights from getting swiped is also essential. So, a review of several bike lights was conducted, and the results are very useful. First, the lights were limited to a group that were powerful, flashed, and could be easily placed on the bike or person, and taken off it. Those included in the trial were the Knog Light Beetle, Pedalite Baglite, Spooklight Bike, and Knog Skink Rear Light.
Of the bunch, the Spooklight, which is actually an indicator for the drivers behind you was the most expensive, and received the lowest rating. While it seems like a great idea, apparently drivers do not seem to be aware of them, so hand gestures were still required. The mid-range Pedalite was a winner because it is solar powered and can be attached to a back pack, so no removal is necessary. It is always wonderful when someone else does the legwork for you.
