How to Get The Most Inviting Outdoor Lighting

As the weather cools down, and we settle into the clocks going back, lighting becomes increasingly important. Inside we want all to be aglow with soft lighting from the fireplace, and candles. The mood is set to snuggle in, or to welcome guests into your nest. However, the exterior of your house is part of that presentation, the setting too.

One of the warmest receptions is arriving at a home that radiates warmth in the dreary, wet and cold winter months. While there are many ways to create luminosity around your home, I find the use of decorative edging and string lights around a walkway to be one of the finest. It is not intrusive, as it can be removed in a jiffy, is rather inexpensive, and produces a visual fanfare of lights for all who approach the house.

To do this all you will require are metal edging with a nice repetitive pattern, matching heavy duty tape, and strings of dainty lights. All in all, depending on how much space you are covering, the average installation will take you under an hour. Sounds magical right?
