Follow A Fashionistas Inspiration to Rejuvenate Your Garage

I just got majorly inspired by some photos on a professional photographers website of a wedding that took place in a parking lot. The bride is a fashion editor, so it was destined to be fabulous, but surely it took some magic. Luckily along with the pictures is a lovely description of how the couple put the space together. Including how the bride used a vintage designer gown, a fashion belt from the mall, and some old curtains to create her wedding gown.

What really struck me was how she made everything flow, and the result was the equivalent of a wedding magazine layout. She used simple items, but was consistent with just a few colours. This made me think about how my garage is unlike the majority of others, the latter being cluttered, and disorganized. Mine is well kept, but lacklustre.

So, I set out to integrate some strong accent colour to make it even more inviting. My overall vision was to make it appear to be just one more room in our home, even though it has never been converted from its utilitarian design. I laid down a lovely rug, put blinds on the single window, hung stretched canvas artwork, and even added a vintage chandelier. The difference is amazing, and it is very difficult to keep the kids out of the space because it is now open and airy. Which they view as just perfect for horse play, and leaving toys in mounting heaps.

I just love to follow another persons stream of inspiration to acquire my own special design. It is so much easier than trying to visualize results in my head.
